What is SMART? Your Success Goal Setting

Some friends of mine asked me, what is S.M.A.R.T. when it apeared in my last post?

What does that mean?
It means those goals set must be

S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Attainable
R – Realistic
T – Timely

You must ask yourself the 6″W” questions. They are
who, what, where, when, which and why ?

This translates to
a) “Who” the goal is for, who else is involved with the goal you’d set
b) “What” does the goal entail? What do you need to do to ensure that you’ll get to your ultimate goal?
c) “where” do you need to go to ensure that you’re in the process of working towards the goal you’ve set?
d) “when” is your deadline to you accomplishing your goals?
e) “which” are the tasks needed to ensure you’re working towards your goals?
f) “why” are you doing this? What’s your “BIG WHY”?

Dennis Waitley said that

“the reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them as believable or achievable… Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.”

Talk to you some other time.
